67:1 سورة الملك بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم ٛــــ تبارك الذي بيده الملك وهو على كل شئ قدير


TransliterationTabaraka allathee biyadihi almulku wahuwa AAala kulli shay-in qadeerun
LiteralBlessed who with His hand (is) the ownership/kingdom , and He is on every thing capable/able.

Yusuf AliBlessed be He in Whose hands is Dominion; and He over all things hath Power;-
PickthalBlessed is He in Whose hand is the Sovereignty, and, He is Able to do all things.
Arberry Blessed be He in whose hand is the Kingdom -- He is powerful over everything --
ShakirBlessed is He in Whose hand is the kingdom, and He has power over all things,
SarwarBlessed is He in whose hands is the Kingdom and who has power over all things.
KhalifaMost exalted is the One in whose hands is all kingship, and He is Omnipotent.
Hilali/KhanBlessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion, and He is Able to do all things.
H/K/SaheehBlessed is He in whose hand is dominion, and He is over all things competent
MalikBlessed be He in Whose hands is the Kingdom of the universe and has power over all things.[1]
QXPEternally Blessed is He in Whose hand is the Supreme Kingdom of the Universe, and He is the Powerful Designer of His Laws for everything.
Maulana AliBlessed is He in Whose hand is the Kingdom, and He is Possessor of power over all things.
Free MindsMost exalted is the One in whose hands is all sovereignty, and He is capable of all things.
Qaribullah Blessed be He in whose Hand is the Kingdom, He is powerful over all things,

al-Mulk 067:002

67:2 الذي خلق الموت والحياة ليبلوكم ايكم احسن عملا وهو العزيز الغفور


TransliterationAllathee khalaqa almawta waalhayata liyabluwakum ayyukum ahsanu AAamalan wahuwa alAAazeezu alghafooru
LiteralWho created the death/lifelessness and the life to test you which of you (is) better (in) deeds, and He is the glorious/mighty , the forgiving.

Yusuf AliHe Who created Death and Life, that He may try which of you is best in deed: and He is the Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving;-
PickthalWho hath created life and death that He may try you which of you is best in conduct; and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving,
Arberry who created death and life, that He might try you which of you is fairest in works; and He is the All-mighty, the All-forgiving --
ShakirWho created death and life that He may try you-- which of you is best in deeds; and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving,
SarwarIt is He who has created death and life to put you to the test and see which of you is most virtuous in your deeds. He is Majestic and All-forgiving.
KhalifaThe One who created death and life for the purpose of distinguishing those among you who would do better. He is the Almighty, the Forgiving.
Hilali/KhanWho has created death and life, that He may test you which of you is best in deed. And He is the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving;
H/K/Saheeh[He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving
MalikThe One Who created death and life, so that He may put you to test, to find out which of you is best in deeds: He is the All-Mighty, the All-Forgiving.[2]
QXPHe has created death and life to distinguish for yourselves who would do better. The Almighty, the Absolver of imperfections, has designed this System in His Infinite Wisdom.
Maulana AliWho created death and life that He might try you -- which of you is best in deeds. And He is the Mighty, the Forgiving,
Free MindsThe One who created death and life, that He may test you, which of you will do better works? He is the Noble, the Forgiving.
Qaribullah who created death and life that He might examine which of you is best in deeds, and He is the Almighty, the Forgiving,

George SaleWho hath created death and life, that He might prove you, which of you is most righteous in his actions: And He is mighty, and ready to forgive.
JM RodwellWho hath created death and life to prove which of you will be most righteous in deed; and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving!

AsadHe who has created death as well as life, 1 so that He might put you to a test [and thus show] which of you is best in conduct, and [make you realize that] He alone is almighty, truly forgiving.



al-Mulk 067:003

67:3 الذي خلق سبع سموات طباقا ماترى في خلق الرحمن من تفاوت فارجع البصر هل ترى من فطور


TransliterationAllathee khalaqa sabAAa samawatin tibaqan ma tara fee khalqi alrrahmani min tafawutin fairjiAAi albasara hal tara min futoorin
LiteralWho created seven skies/space(s) (in) stages/layers , you do not see in the merciful's creation from discrepancy/inconsistency , so return the eyesight do you see from splits/cracks/cleaves?

Yusuf AliHe Who created the seven heavens one above another: No want of proportion wilt thou see in the Creation of (Allah) Most Gracious. So turn thy vision again: seest thou any flaw?
PickthalWho hath created seven heavens in harmony. Thou (Muhammad) canst see no fault in the Beneficent One's creation; then look again: Canst thou see any rifts?
Arberry who created seven heavens one upon another. Thou seest not in the creation of the All-merciful any imperfection. Return thy gaze; seest thou any fissure?
ShakirWho created the seven heavens one above another; you see no incongruity in the creation of the Beneficent Allah; then look again, can you see any disorder?
SarwarIt is He who has created seven heavens, one above the other. You can see no flaw in the creation of the Beneficent God. Look again. Can you see faults?.
KhalifaHe created seven universes in layers. You do not see any imperfection in the creation by the Most Gracious. Keep looking; do you see any flaw?
Hilali/KhanWho has created the seven heavens one above another, you can see no fault in the creations of the Most Beneficent. Then look again: "Can you see any rifts?"
H/K/Saheeh[And] who created seven heavens in layers. You do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency. So return [your] vision [to the sky]; do you see any breaks?
MalikThe One Who created the seven heavens, one above another, you will not see any flaw in the creation of the Compassionate. Look once again, do you see any flaw?[3]
QXPHe has created seven Cosmic Systems in great harmony. Look! No fault will you see in the creation of the Beneficent. And turn your vision upon it once more. Can you see any flaw?
Maulana AliWho created the seven heavens alike. Thou seest no incongruity in the creation of the Beneficent. Then look again: Canst thou see any disorder?
Free MindsHe created seven universes in layers. You do not see any imperfection in the creation by the Almighty. Keep looking; do you see any flaw?
Qaribullah who created the seven heavens, one above the other. You cannot see any inconsistency in the creation of the Merciful. Return your gaze, do you see any crack!

George SaleWho hath created seven heavens, one above another: Thou canst not see in a creature of the most Merciful any unfitness or disproportion. Lift up thine eyes again to heaven, and look whether thou seest any flaw:
JM RodwellWho hath created seven Heavens one above another: No defect canst thou see in the creation of the God of Mercy: Repeat the gaze: seest thou a single flaw?

Asad[Hallowed be] He who has created seven heavens in full harmony with one another: 2 no fault will thou see in the creation of the Most Gracious. And turn thy vision [upon it] once more: canst thou see any flaw?



al-Mulk 067:004

67:4 ثم ارجع البصر كرتين ينقلب اليك البصر خاسئا وهو حسير


TransliterationThumma irjiAAi albasara karratayni yanqalib ilayka albasaru khasi-an wahuwa haseerun
LiteralThen return the eyesight two times/repetitions , the eyesight returns to you diminished/humiliated and it is grieving/uncovered .

Yusuf AliAgain turn thy vision a second time: (thy) vision will come back to thee dull and discomfited, in a state worn out.
PickthalThen look again and yet again, thy sight will return unto thee weakened and made dim.
Arberry Then return thy gaze again, and again, and thy gaze comes back to thee dazzled, aweary.
ShakirThen turn back the eye again and again; your look shall '~ come back to you confused while it is fatigued.
SarwarLook twice (and keep on looking), your eyes will only become dull and tired.
KhalifaLook again and again; your eyes will come back stumped and conquered.
Hilali/KhanThen look again and yet again, your sight will return to you in a state of humiliation and worn out.
H/K/SaheehThen return [your] vision twice again. [Your] vision will return to you humbled while it is fatigued.
MalikThen look still another time, yet again your sight will come back bewildered, and feel exhausted.[4]
QXPThen look again and yet again, and every time your vision will fall back upon you, dazzled and defeated.
Maulana AliThen turn the eye again and again -- thy look will return to thee confused, while it is fatigued.
Free MindsThen look again twice; your eyes will come back humiliated and tired.
Qaribullah Then return your gaze once more and yet again, your gaze comes back to you dazzled, and tired.

George SaleThen take two other views; and thy sight shall return unto thee dull and fatigued.
JM RodwellThen twice more repeat the gaze: thy gaze shall return to thee dulled and weary.

AsadYea, turn thy vision [upon it] again and yet again: [and every time] thy vision will fall back upon thee, dazzled and truly defeated....



al-Mulk 067:005

67:5 ولقد زينا السماء الدنيا بمصابيح وجعلناها رجوما للشياطين واعتدنا لهم عذاب السعير


TransliterationWalaqad zayyanna alssamaa alddunya bimasabeeha wajaAAalnaha rujooman lilshshayateeni waaAAtadna lahum AAathaba alssaAAeeri
LiteralAnd We had decorated/beautified, the sky/space (of) the present world with lights/stars , and We made it meteorites/shooting stars for the devils, and We prepared/made ready for them the/blazing/inflamed (inferno) torture.

Yusuf AliAnd we have, (from of old), adorned the lowest heaven with Lamps, and We have made such (Lamps) (as) missiles to drive away the Evil Ones, and have prepared for them the Penalty of the Blazing Fire.
PickthalAnd verily We have beautified the world's heaven with lamps, and We have made them missiles for the devils, and for them We have prepared the doom of flame.
Arberry And We adorned the lower heaven with lamps, and made them things to stone Satans; and We have prepared for them the chastisement of the Blaze.
ShakirAnd certainly We have adorned this lower heaven with lamps and We have made these missiles for the Shaitans, and We have prepared for them the chastisement of burning.
SarwarWe have decked the lowest heavens with torches. With these torches We have stoned the devils and We have prepared for them the torment of hell.
KhalifaWe adorned the lowest universe with lamps, and guarded its borders with projectiles against the devils; we prepared for them a retribution in Hell.
Hilali/KhanAnd indeed We have adorned the nearest heaven with lamps, and We have made such lamps (as) missiles to drive away the Shayatin (devils), and have prepared for them the torment of the blazing Fire.
H/K/SaheehAnd We have certainly beautified the nearest heaven with stars and have made [from] them what is thrown at the devils and have prepared for them the punishment of the Blaze.
MalikWe have decorated the heaven of this world with lamps and We made them as missiles for pelting the Satans and thus prepared for them the scourge of flames.[5]
QXPAnd indeed, We have beautified the sky of the world with shining lamps. And made them objects of futile guesses for the satans. (15:17), (37:6-9), (72:8). And for them We have prepared the doom of blazing flames.
Maulana AliAnd certainly We have adorned this lower heaven with lamps and We make them means of conjectures for the devils, and We have prepared for them the chastisement of burning.
Free MindsAnd We have adorned this universe with lamps, and We made it with projectiles against the devils; and We prepared for them the retribution of the blazing Fire.
Qaribullah We have adorned the lower heaven with lamps, and We made them a stoning for the satans, We have prepared the punishment of the Blaze for them.

George SaleMoreover We have adorned the lowest heaven with lamps, and have appointed them to be darted at the devils, for whom We have prepared the torment of burning fire:
JM RodwellMoreover we have decked the lowest heaven with lights, and have placed them there to be hurled at the Satans, for whom we have prepared the torment of the flaming fire.

AsadAnd, indeed, We have adorned the skies nearest to the earth with lights, 4 and have made them the object of futile guesses for the evil ones [from among men]: 5 and for them have We readied suffering through a blazing flame -



al-Mulk 067:006

67:6 وللذين كفروا بربهم عذاب جهنم وبئس المصير


TransliterationWalillatheena kafaroo birabbihim AAathabu jahannama wabi/sa almaseeru
LiteralAnd for those who disbelieved with (in) their Lord, Hell's torture, and how bad (is) the end/destination?

Yusuf AliFor those who reject their Lord (and Cherisher) is the Penalty of Hell: and evil is (such), Destination.
PickthalAnd for those who disbelieve in their Lord there is the doom of hell, a hapless journey's end!
Arberry And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there awaits the chastisement of Gehenna -- an evil homecoming!
ShakirAnd for those who disbelieve in their Lord is the punishment of hell, and evil is the resort.
SarwarFor those who have disbelieved in their Lord, We have prepared the torment of hell, the most terrible place to return.
KhalifaFor those who disbelieved in their Lord, the retribution of Gehenna. What a miserable destiny.
Hilali/KhanAnd for those who disbelieve in their Lord (Allah) is the torment of Hell, and worst indeed is that destination.
H/K/SaheehAnd for those who disbelieved in their Lord is the punishment of Hell, and wretched is the destination.
MalikAs for those who disbelieve their Lord, there will be the punishment of hell, which is an evil abode.[6]
QXPSuffering in Hell awaits all who thus blaspheme against their Sustainer. What a miserable destination!
Maulana AliAnd for those who disbelieve in their Lord is the chastisement of hell, and evil is the resort.
Free MindsAnd for those who rejected their Lord will be the retribution of Hell. What a miserable destiny.
Qaribullah And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there awaits the punishment of Gehenna (Hell) an evil arrival!

George SaleAnd for those who believe not in their Lord, is also prepared the torment of hell; an ill journey shall it be thither!
JM RodwellAnd for those who believe not in their Lord is the torment of Hell; and horrid the journey thither!

Asadfor, suffering in hell awaits all who are [thus] bent on blaspheming against their Sustainer: 6 and how vile a journey's end!



al-Mulk 067:007

67:7 اذا القوا فيها سمعوا لها شهيقا وهي تفور


TransliterationItha olqoo feeha samiAAoo laha shaheeqan wahiya tafooru
LiteralWhen they were thrown in it, they heard for it loud inhalation/loud noise and it, it boils with anger.

Yusuf AliWhen they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath even as it blazes forth,
PickthalWhen they are flung therein they hear its roaring as it boileth up,
Arberry When they are cast into it they will hear it sighing, the while it boils
ShakirWhen they shall be cast therein, they shall hear a loud moaning of it as it heaves,
SarwarWhen they are thrown into hell, they will hear its roaring while it boils.
KhalifaWhen they get thrown therein, they hear its furor as it fumes.
Hilali/KhanWhen they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath as it blazes forth.
H/K/SaheehWhen they are thrown into it, they hear from it a [dreadful] inhaling while it boils up.
MalikWhen they will be plunged into its fire, they shall hear its roaring and boiling[7]
QXPWhen they are flung into Hell, they will hear and feel its fury as it fumes.
Maulana AliWhen they are cast therein, they will hear a loud moaning of it as it heaves,
Free MindsWhen they are thrown therein, they hear its furor as it boils.
Qaribullah When they are cast into it they shall hear it sighing, while it boils

George SaleWhen they shall be thrown thereinto, they shall hear it bray like an ass; and it shall boil,

AsadWhen they are cast into that [hell], they will hear its breath indrawing as it boils up,



al-Mulk 067:008

67:8 تكاد تميز من الغيظ كلما القى فيها فوج سالهم خزنتها الم ياتكم نذير


TransliterationTakadu tamayyazu mina alghaythi kullama olqiya feeha fawjun saalahum khazanatuha alam ya/tikum natheerun
LiteralIt is about to/almost distinguish/separate from the anger/rage, when ever (a) group/band/crowd were thrown in it, its safe-keepers asked them: "Did not a warner/giver of notice come to you?"

Yusuf AliAlmost bursting with fury: Every time a Group is cast therein, its Keepers will ask, "Did no Warner come to you?"
PickthalAs it would burst with rage. Whenever a (fresh) host is flung therein the wardens thereof ask them: Came there unto you no warner?
Arberry and wellnigh bursts asunder with rage. As often as a troop is cast into it, its keepers ask them, 'Came there no warner to you?';
ShakirAlmost bursting for fury. Whenever a group is cast into it, its keeper shall ask them: Did there not come to you a warner?
SarwarIt almost explodes in rage. Whenever a group is thrown into it, its keepers will ask them, "Did no one come to warn you?".
KhalifaIt almost explodes from rage. Whenever a group is thrown therein, its guards would ask them, "Did you not receive a warner?"
Hilali/KhanIt almost bursts up with fury. Every time a group is cast therein, its keeper will ask: "Did no warner come to you?"
H/K/SaheehIt almost bursts with rage. Every time a company is thrown into it, its keepers ask them, "Did there not come to you a warner?"
Malikas though bursting with rage. Every time a group is plunged therein, its guards will ask: "Did not a Warner come to you?"[8]
QXPAs if it would burst with rage. Whenever a group is cast in it, the guardians of Hell will ask them, "Did you not receive a Warner?"
Maulana AliAlmost bursting for fury. Whenever a group is cast into it, its keepers ask them: Did not a warner come to you?
Free MindsIt almost explodes from rage. Whenever a group is thrown therein, its keepers would ask them: "Did you not receive a warner?"
Qaribullah nearly bursting apart out of rage. Every time a host is cast therein, its keepers will ask them: 'Did no one come to warn you? '

George Saleand almost burst for fury. So often as a company of them shall be thrown therein, the keepers thereof shall ask them, saying, did not a warner come unto you?
JM RodwellAlmost shall it burst for fury. So oft as a crowd shall be thrown into it, its keepers shall ask them, "Came not the warner to you?"

Asadwell-nigh bursting with fury; [and] every time a host [of such sinners] is flung into it, its keepers will ask them, "Has no warner ever come to you?"



al-Mulk 067:009

67:9 قالوا بلى قد جاءنا نذير فكذبنا وقلنا مانزل الله من شئ ان انتم الا في ضلال كبير


TransliterationQaloo bala qad jaana natheerun fakaththabna waqulna ma nazzala Allahu min shay-in in antum illa fee dalalin kabeerin
LiteralThey said: "Yes/certainly, a warner/giver of notice had come to us, so we lied/denied/falsified, and we said: 'God did not descend from a thing, that truly you are except in big/great misguidance.'"

Yusuf AliThey will say: "Yes indeed; a Warner did come to us, but we rejected him and said, 'Allah never sent down any (Message): ye are nothing but an egregious delusion!'"
PickthalThey say: Yea, verily, a warner came unto us; but we denied and said: Allah hath naught revealed; ye are in naught but a great error.
Arberry They say, 'Yes indeed, a warner came to us; but we cried lies, saying, "God has not sent down anything; you are only in great error.
ShakirThey shall say: Yea! indeed there came to us a warner, but we rejected (him) and said: Allah has not revealed anything, you are only in a great error.
SarwarThey will say, "Yes, someone did come to warn us, but we rejected him saying, 'God has revealed nothing. You are in great error".
KhalifaThey would answer, "Yes indeed; a warner did come to us, but we disbelieved and said, `GOD did not reveal anything. You are totally astray.' "
Hilali/KhanThey will say: "Yes indeed; a warner did come to us, but we belied him and said: Allah never sent down anything (of revelation), you are only in great error."
H/K/SaheehThey will say," Yes, a warner had come to us, but we denied and said, 'Allah has not sent down anything. You are not but in great error.' "
MalikThey will answer: "Yes indeed, a Warner did come to us, but we rejected him and said, Allah has revealed nothing - you are merely in gross error."[9]
QXPThey will say, "Yes, verily, a Warner did come to us but we denied him saying that Allah has not revealed anything! You are but lost in a great error."
Maulana AliThey say: Yea, indeed a warner came to us, but we denied and said: Allah has revealed nothing; you are only in great error.
Free MindsThey said: "Yes indeed; a warner did come to us, but we disbelieved and said: God did not reveal anything, you are being led astray."
Qaribullah 'Yes, indeed' they will reply, 'but we belied the Warner (Messenger) saying: 'Allah has not sent down anything, you are but in great error! '

George SaleThey shall answer, yea, a warner came unto us: But we accused him of imposture, and said, God hath not revealed any thing; ye are in no other than a great error:
JM RodwellThey shall say, Yes! there came to us one charged with warnings; but we treated him as a liar, and said, "Nothing hath God sent down: ye are in nothing but a vast delusion."

AsadThey will reply: "Yea, a warner did indeed come unto us, but we gave him the lie and said, 'Never has God sent down anything [by way of revelation]! You [self-styled warners] are but lost in a great delusion!'"



al-Mulk 067:010

67:10 وقالوا لو كنا نسمع او نعقل ماكنا في اصحاب السعير


TransliterationWaqaloo law kunna nasmaAAu aw naAAqilu ma kunna fee as-habi alssaAAeeri
LiteralAnd they said: "If we were hearing/listening or reasoning/comprehending we would not have been in (between) the blazing's/inflamed's (inferno's) owners/company/friends."

Yusuf AliThey will further say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we should not (now) be among the Companions of the Blazing Fire!"
PickthalAnd they say: Had we been wont to listen or have sense, we had not been among the dwellers in the flames.
Arberry They also say, 'If we had only heard, or had understood, we would not have been of the inhabitants of the Blaze.'
ShakirAnd they shall say: Had we but listened or pondered, we should not have been among the inmates of the burning fire.
SarwarThey will also say, "Had We listened or used our minds, we would not have become the dwellers of hell".
KhalifaThey also say, "If we heard or understood, we would not be among the dwellers of Hell!"
Hilali/KhanAnd they will say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we would not have been among the dwellers of the blazing Fire!"
H/K/SaheehAnd they will say, "If only we had been listening or reasoning, we would not be among the companions of the Blaze."
MalikThey will further say: "Had we only listened or used our intelligence, we would have not been among the inmates of the blazing fire."[10]
QXPAnd they will say, "If we really listened and used our sense, we would not be among the dwellers of the Flames." (7:179).
Maulana AliAnd they say: Had we but listened or pondered, we should not have been among the inmates of the burning Fire.
Free MindsAnd they said: "If we had listened or understood, we would not be among the dwellers of the blazing Fire!"
Qaribullah And they will then say: 'If only we had listened and understood we should not now be among the inhabitants of the Blaze. '

George SaleAnd they shall say, if we had hearkened, or had rightly considered, we should not have been among the inhabitants of burning fire:
JM RodwellAnd they shall say, "Had we but hearkened or understood, we had not been among the dwellers in the flames;"

AsadAnd they will add: "Had we but listened [to those warnings], or [at least] used our own reason, we would not [now] be among those who are destined for the blazing flame!"



al-Mulk 067:011

67:11 فاعترفوا بذنبهم فسحقا لاصحاب السعير


TransliterationFaiAAtarafoo bithanbihim fasuhqan li-as-habi alssaAAeeri
LiteralSo they confessed/acknowledged with their crime, so distance/remoteness , to the blazing's/inflamed's (inferno's) owners/company/friends.

Yusuf AliThey will then confess their sins: but far will be (Forgiveness) from the Companions of the Blazing Fire!
PickthalSo they acknowledge their sins; but far removed (from mercy) are the dwellers in the flames.
Arberry So they confess their sins. Curse the inhabitants of the Blaze!
ShakirSo they shall acknowledge their sins, but far will be (forgiveness) from the inmates of the burning fire.
SarwarThey will confess to their sins, but the dwellers of hell will be far away from God's (mercy).
KhalifaThus, they confessed their sins. Woe to the dwellers of Hell.
Hilali/KhanThen they will confess their sin. So, away with the dwellers of the blazing Fire.
H/K/SaheehAnd they will admit their sin, so [it is] alienation for the companions of the Blaze.
MalikThus shall they confess their sin; so away from the mercy of Allah will be the dwellers of hell.[11]
QXPThey will acknowledge that they did trail behind in humanity. Thus, far removed are the dwellers of the Flames from Divine Grace.
Maulana AliOr who is it that will give you sustenance, if He should withhold His sustenance? Nay, they persist in disdain and aversion.
Free MindsThus, they confessed their sins. So away with the dwellers of the blazing Fire.
Qaribullah So it is that they confess their sins. Curse the inhabitants of the Blaze!

George SaleAnd they shall confess their sins; but far be the inhabitants of burning fire from obtaining mercy!
JM RodwellAnd their sin shall they acknowledge: but, "Avaunt, ye dwellers in the flame."

AsadThus will they come to realize their sins: but [by that time,] remote will have become all good from those who are destined for the blazing flame.



al-Mulk 067:012

67:12 ان الذين يخشون ربهم بالغيب لهم مغفرة واجر كبير


TransliterationInna allatheena yakhshawna rabbahum bialghaybi lahum maghfiratun waajrun kabeerun
LiteralThat truly those who fear their Lord with the unseen/supernatural , for them (is) a forgiveness and a large/great reward .

Yusuf AliAs for those who fear their Lord unseen, for them is Forgiveness and a great Reward.
PickthalLo! those who fear their Lord in secret, theirs will be forgiveness and a great reward.
Arberry Surely those who fear their Lord in the Unseen -- there awaits them forgiveness and a great wage.
Shakir(As for) those who fear their Lord in secret, they shall surely have forgiveness and a great reward.
SarwarThose who fear their Lord in secret will receive forgiveness and a great reward.
KhalifaAs for those who reverence their Lord, when alone in their privacy, they have attained forgiveness and a great recompense.
Hilali/KhanVerily! Those who fear their Lord unseen (i.e. they do not see Him, nor His Punishment in the Hereafter, etc.), theirs will be forgiveness and a great reward (i.e. Paradise).
H/K/SaheehIndeed, those who fear their Lord unseen will have forgiveness and great reward.
MalikAs for those who fear their Lord, although they have not seen Him, shall have forgiveness and a great reward.[12]
QXPThose who fear violating the Laws of their Lord even in privacy, for them is the protection of forgiveness and a Great Reward. (They keep in mind that every action has a consequence, even though it may not be immediately apparent).
Maulana AliThus they will confess their sins; so far (from good) are the inmates of the burning Fire.
Free MindsAs for those who reverence their Lord unseen, they have attained forgiveness and a great reward.
Qaribullah But those who fear their Lord in the Unseen, for them there is forgiveness and a great wage.

George SaleVerily they who fear their Lord in secret, shall receive pardon and a great reward.

Asad[As against this,] behold, for those who stand in awe of God although He is beyond the reach of their perception, 9 there is forgiveness in store and a great reward.



al-Mulk 067:013

67:13 واسروا قولكم او اجهروا به انه عليم بذات الصدور


TransliterationWaasirroo qawlakum awi ijharoo bihi innahu AAaleemun bithati alssudoori
LiteralAnd keep your opinion and belief/statement secret, or you publicize/declare with it, that He truly is knowledgeable with of the chests (innermosts).

Yusuf AliAnd whether ye hide your word or publish it, He certainly has (full) knowledge, of the secrets of (all) hearts.
PickthalAnd keep your opinion secret or proclaim it, lo! He is Knower of all that is in the breasts (of men).
Arberry Be secret in your speech, or proclaim it, He knows the thoughts within the breasts.
ShakirAnd conceal your word or manifest it; surely He is Cognizant of what is in the hearts.
SarwarWhether you conceal what you say or reveal it, God knows best all that the hearts contain.
KhalifaWhether you keep your utterances secret, or declare them, He is fully aware of the innermost thoughts.
Hilali/KhanAnd whether you keep your talk secret or disclose it, verily, He is the All-Knower of what is in the breasts (of men).
H/K/SaheehAnd conceal your speech or publicize it; indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts.
MalikWhether you speak in secret or aloud, surely He is aware of all that is in the breasts.[13]
QXPWhether you hide your word and thought or make it known, behold, He is the Knower of what is in the hearts. ('Qaul' = Word = Saying = Utterance. It also signifies thought, opinion, belief and idea).
Maulana AliThose who fear their Lord in secret, for them is surely forgiveness and a great reward.
Free MindsAnd whether you keep your utterances secret, or declare them, He is fully aware of what is inside the chests.
Qaribullah (Whether you) speak in secret or aloud, He knows the innermost of the chests.

George SaleEither conceal your discourse, or make it public; He knoweth the innermost parts of your breasts:
JM RodwellBe your converse hidden or open, He truly knoweth the inmost recess of your breasts!

AsadAND [know, O men, that] whether you keep your beliefs 10 secret or state them openly, He has full knowledge indeed of all that is in [your] hearts.



al-Mulk 067:014

67:14 الا يعلم من خلق وهو اللطيف الخبير


TransliterationAla yaAAlamu man khalaqa wahuwa allateefu alkhabeeru
LiteralDoes he not know whom He created? And He is the most kind/gracious , the expert/ experienced.

Yusuf AliShould He not know,- He that created? and He is the One that understands the finest mysteries (and) is well-acquainted (with them).
PickthalShould He not know what He created? And He is the Subtile, the Aware.
Arberry Shall He not know, who created? And He is the All-subtle, the All-aware.
ShakirDoes He not know, Who created? And He is the Knower of the subtleties, the Aware.
SarwarDoes the One Who is Subtle, All-aware, and Who created all things not know all about them?.
KhalifaShould He not know what He created? He is the Sublime, Most Cognizant.
Hilali/KhanShould not He Who has created know? And He is the Most Kind and Courteous (to His slaves) All-Aware (of everything).
H/K/SaheehDoes He who created not know, while He is the Subtle, the Acquainted?
MalikWould He, Who has created them, not know? He is the Knower of finest mysteries, and aware of everything.[14]
QXPHow could it be that He Who has created all should not know all things and events? For, He is the Unfathomable, the Aware.
Maulana AliAnd conceal your word or manifest it, truly He is Knower of that which is in the hearts.

Qaribullah Shall He who has created (all things) not know? He is the Subtle, the Aware.

George SaleShall not He know all things who hath created them; since He is the sagacious, the knowing?

AsadHow could it be that He who has created [all] should not know [all]? 12 Yea, He alone is unfathomable [in His wisdom], aware!



al-Mulk 067:015

67:15 هو الذي جعل لكم الارض ذلولا فامشوا في مناكبها وكلوا من رزقه واليه النشور


TransliterationHuwa allathee jaAAala lakumu al-arda thaloolan faimshoo fee manakibiha wakuloo min rizqihi wa-ilayhi alnnushooru
LiteralHe is who made/put for you the earth/Planet Earth manipulated/eased , so walk in its directions/elevations , and eat from His provision, and to him (is) the revival/resurrection.

Yusuf AliIt is He Who has made the earth manageable for you, so traverse ye through its tracts and enjoy of the Sustenance which He furnishes: but unto Him is the Resurrection.
PickthalHe it is Who hath made the earth subservient unto you, so Walk in the paths thereof and eat of His providence. And unto Him will be the resurrection (of the dead).
Arberry It is He who made the earth submissive to you; therefore walk in its tracts, and eat of His provision; to Him is the Uprising.
ShakirHe it is Who made the earth smooth for you, therefore go about in the spacious sides thereof, and eat of His sustenance, and to Him is the return after death.
SarwarIt is He who has made the earth subservient to you. You walk through its vast valleys and eat of its sustenance. Before Him you will all be resurrected.
KhalifaHe is the One who put the Earth at your service. Roam its corners, and eat from His provisions. To Him is the final summoning.
Hilali/KhanHe it is, Who has made the earth subservient to you (i.e. easy for you to walk, to live and to do agriculture on it, etc.), so walk in the path thereof and eat of His provision, and to Him will be the Resurrection.
H/K/SaheehIt is He who made the earth tame for you so walk among its slopes and eat of His provision and to Him is the resurrection.
MalikIt is He Who has made the earth subservient to you, to walk through its tracts and eat of His provided sustenance. To Him is the return at resurrection.[15]
QXPHe it is Who has made the earth humble at your service. So move through its tracts and enjoy His provisions. Bear in mind that the revival to New Life will again be in His Dominion.
Maulana AliDoes He not know Who created? And He is the Knower of subtilties, the Aware.
Free MindsHe is the One who made the Earth subservient for you. So roam its paths, and eat from His provisions; and to Him is the final summoning.
Qaribullah It is He who has made the earth submissive to you. Walk about in its land and eat of His provision. To Him is the Resurrection.

George SaleIt is He who hath levelled the earth for you: Therefore walk through the regions thereof, and eat of his provision; unto Him shall be the resurrection.

AsadHe it is who has made the earth easy to live upon: 14 go about, then, in all its regions, and partake the sustenance which He provides: but [always bear in mind that] unto Him you shall be resurrected.



al-Mulk 067:016

67:16 ءامنتم من في السماء ان يخسف بكم الارض فاذا هي تمور


TransliterationAamintum man fee alssama-i an yakhsifa bikumu al-arda fa-itha hiya tamooru
LiteralDid you become safe/secure (trust) whom (are) in the sky/space that (E) He sinks down with you the earth/Planet Earth, so then it agitates/sways ?

Yusuf AliDo ye feel secure that He Who is in heaven will not cause you to be swallowed up by the earth when it shakes (as in an earthquake)?
PickthalHave ye taken security from Him Who is in the heaven that He will not cause the earth to swallow you when lo! it is convulsed?
Arberry Do you feel secure that He who is in heaven will not cause the earth to swallow you, the while it rocks?
ShakirAre you secure of those in the heaven that He should not make the earth to swallow you up? Then lo! it shall be in a state of commotion.
SarwarDo you feel secure that the One in the heavens will not cause you to sink into the earth when it is violently shaking?.
KhalifaHave you guaranteed that the One in heaven will not strike the earth and cause it to tumble?
Hilali/KhanDo you feel secure that He, Who is over the heaven (Allah), will not cause the earth to sink with you, then behold it shakes (as in an earthquake)?
H/K/SaheehDo you feel secure that He who [holds authority] in the heaven would not cause the earth to swallow you and suddenly it would sway?
MalikDo you feel secure that He Who is in heaven, will not cause the earth to cave in beneath you and start shaking suddenly?[16]
QXPCan you ever feel secure that the High Sovereign will not cause the earth to swallow you up when it begins to quake? (Life of the world is too brief and unpredictable to postpone the good until tomorrow (67:21), (67:30), (80:25)).
Maulana AliHe it is Who made the earth subservient to you, so go about in the spacious sides thereof, and eat of His sustenance. And to Him is the rising (after death).
Free MindsAre you secure that the One in heaven will not cause the Earth to rupture, thus causing it to shake?
Qaribullah Do you feel secure that He who is in the heaven will not cause the earth to swallow you up while it shakes?

George SaleAre ye secure that He who dwelleth in heaven will not cause the earth to swallow you up? And behold, it shall shake.
JM RodwellWhat! are ye sure that He who is in Heaven will not cleave the Earth beneath you? And lo, it shall quake.

AsadCan you ever feel secure that He who is in heaven 15 will not cause the earth to swallow you up when, lo and behold, it begins to quake?



al-Mulk 067:017

67:17 ام امنتم من في السماء ان يرسل عليكم حاصبا فستعلمون كيف نذير


TransliterationAm amintum man fee alssama-i an yursila AAalaykum hasiban fasataAAlamoona kayfa natheeri
LiteralOr did you become safe/secure (trust) whom (are) in the sky/space that (E) He sends on you a violent wind carrying pebbles and hail/hail laden clouds? So you will know how was My warning/notice.

Yusuf AliOr do ye feel secure that He Who is in Heaven will not send against you a violent tornado (with showers of stones), so that ye shall know how (terrible) was My warning?
PickthalOr have ye taken security from Him Who is in the heaven that He will not let loose on you a hurricane? But ye shall know the manner of My warning.
Arberry Do you feel secure that He who is in heaven will not loose against you a squall of pebbles, then you shall know how My warning is?
ShakirOr are you secure of those in the heaven that He should not send down upon you a punishment? Then shall you know how was My warning.
SarwarDo you feel secure that the One in the heavens will not strike you with a sandstorm? You will soon know, with the coming of the torment, how serious Our warning was.
KhalifaHave you guaranteed that the One in heaven will not send upon you a violent storm? Will you then appreciate the value of My warning?
Hilali/KhanOr do you feel secure that He, Who is over the heaven (Allah), will not send against you a violent whirlwind? Then you shall know how (terrible) has been My Warning?
H/K/SaheehOr do you feel secure that He who [holds authority] in the heaven would not send against you a storm of stones? Then you would know how [severe] was My warning.
MalikOr do you feel secure that He Who is in heaven will not send against you a violent tornado, then you shall know how was My warning![17]
QXPOr can you ever feel secure that the High Sovereign will not let loose on you a deadly hurricane? So that you shall know how My disapproval was.
Maulana AliDo you feel secure that He Who is in the heaven will not make the earth to swallow you up? Then lo! it will shake.
Free MindsOr are you secure that the One in heaven will not send upon you a violent storm? Then you will know the value of the warning.
Qaribullah Do you feel secure that He who is in the heaven will not loose against you a squall of pebbles then you shall know how was My warning.

George SaleOr are ye secure that He who dwelleth in heaven will not send against you an impetuous whirlwind, driving the sands to overwhelm you? Then shall ye know how important my warning was.
JM RodwellOr are ye sure that He who is in Heaven will not send against you a stone- charged whirlwind? Then shall ye know what my warning meant!

AsadOr can you ever feel secure that He who is in heaven will not let loose against you a deadly stormwind, 16 whereupon you would come to know how [true] My warning was?



al-Mulk 067:018

67:18 ولقد كذب الذين من قبلهم فكيف كان نكير


TransliterationWalaqad kaththaba allatheena min qablihim fakayfa kana nakeeri
LiteralAnd those from before them had (E) lied/denied/falsified, so how was My severity (anger) ?

Yusuf AliBut indeed men before them rejected (My warning): then how (terrible) was My rejection (of them)?
PickthalAnd verily those before them denied, then (see) the manner of My wrath (with them)!
Arberry Those that were before them also cried lies; then how was My horror!
ShakirAnd certainly those before them rejected (the truth), then how was My disapproval.
SarwarThose who lived before them had also rejected Our warning, and how terrible was Our retribution!
KhalifaOthers before them have disbelieved; how terrible was My requital!
Hilali/KhanAnd indeed those before them belied (the Messengers of Allah), then how terrible was My denial (punishment)?
H/K/SaheehAnd already had those before them denied, and how [terrible] was My reproach.
MalikThose who have gone before them likewise disbelieved, then see how terrible was the way I rejected them?[18]
QXPAnd verily nations before them rejected, then, how awesome was My rejection of them!
Maulana AliOr do you feel secure that He Who is in the Heaven will not send on you a violent wind? Then shall you know how (truthful) was My warning!
Free MindsAnd those before them have disbelieved; so how terrible was My requital!
Qaribullah Those who have gone before you also belied (their Messengers) then how was My disapproval!

George SaleThose also who were before you disbelieved; and how grievous was my displeasure!
JM RodwellAnd verily, those who flourish before you treated their prophets as liars: and how grievous my wrath!

AsadAnd, indeed, [many of] those who lived aforetime^ 17 did give the lie [to My warnings]: and how awesome was My rejection [of them]!



al-Mulk 067:019

67:19 اولم يروا الى الطير فوقهم صافات ويقبضن مايمسكهن الا الرحمن انه بكل شي بصير


TransliterationAwa lam yaraw ila alttayri fawqahum saffatin wayaqbidna ma yumsikuhunna illa alrrahmanu innahu bikulli shay-in baseerun
LiteralDo they not see to the birds above them expanded and motionless wings in a row, and they stretch and shrink/speed ? None holds/grasps them except the merciful, that He truly is with every thing seeing/understanding .

Yusuf AliDo they not observe the birds above them, spreading their wings and folding them in? None can uphold them except (Allah) Most Gracious: Truly (Allah) Most Gracious: Truly it is He that watches over all things.
PickthalHave they not seen the birds above them spreading out their wings and closing them? Naught upholdeth them save the Beneficent. Lo! He is Seer of all things.
Arberry Have they not regarded the birds above them spreading their wings, and closing them? Naught holds them but the All-merciful. Surely He sees everything.
ShakirHave they not seen the birds above them expanding (their wings) and contracting (them)? What is it that withholds them save the Beneficent Allah? Surely He sees everything.
SarwarDid they not see the birds above them, stretching out, and flapping their wings. No one keeps them up in the sky except the Beneficent God. He certainly watches over all things.
KhalifaHave they not seen the birds above them lined up in columns and spreading their wings? The Most Gracious is the One who holds them in the air. He is Seer of all things.
Hilali/KhanDo they not see the birds above them, spreading out their wings and folding them in? None upholds them except the Most Beneficent (Allah). Verily, He is the All-Seer of everything.
H/K/SaheehDo they not see the birds above them with wings outspread and [sometimes] folded in? None holds them [aloft] except the Most Merciful. Indeed He is, of all things, Seeing.
MalikDo they not observe the birds above them spreading their wings and folding them? None could hold them except the Compassionate (Allah), surely it is He Who watches over all things.[19]
QXPHave they, then, never seen the birds above them spreading their wings and drawing them in? Nothing upholds them but the Beneficent - for, verily, He is ever Seer of all things.
Maulana AliAnd certainly those before them denied, then how (terrible) was My disapproval!
Free MindsHave they not looked to the birds lined-up together above them, and they launch? The Almighty is the One who holds them in the air. He is Seer of all things.
Qaribullah Do they not observe the birds above them, spreading their wings and folding them? None, except the Merciful holds them. Surely, He sees all things.

George SaleDo they not behold the birds above them, extending and drawing back their wings? None sustaineth them, except the Merciful; for He regardeth all things.
JM RodwellBehold they not the birds over their heads, outstretching and drawing in their wings? None, save the God of Mercy, upholdeth them: for he regardeth all things.

AsadHave they, then, never beheld the birds above them, spreading their wings and drawing them in? None but the Most Gracious upholds them: for, verily, He keeps all things in His sight.



al-Mulk 067:020

67:20 امن هذا الذي هو جند لكم ينصركم من دون الرحمن ان الكافرون الا في غرور


TransliterationAmman hatha allathee huwa jundun lakum yansurukum min dooni alrrahmani ini alkafiroona illa fee ghuroorin
LiteralOr who (is) that who he is soldiers/warriors for you (and who are your allies that) give you victory/aid from other than the merciful? That truly the disbelievers (are) except in deceit/temptation.

Yusuf AliNay, who is there that can help you, (even as) an army, besides (Allah) Most Merciful? In nothing but delusion are the Unbelievers.
PickthalOr who is he that will be an army unto you to help you instead of the Beneficent? The disbelievers are in naught but illusion.
Arberry Or who is this that shall be a host for you to help you, apart from the All-merciful? The unbelievers are only in delusion.
ShakirOr who is it that will be a host for you to assist you besides the Beneficent Allah? The unbelievers are only in deception.
SarwarDo you have any armies who will help you against the Beneficent God? The disbelievers are certainly deceived (by satan).
KhalifaWhere are those soldiers who can help you against the Most Gracious? Indeed, the disbelievers are deceived.
Hilali/KhanWho is he besides the Most Beneficent that can be an army to you to help you? The disbelievers are in nothing but delusion.
H/K/SaheehOr who is it that could be an army for you to aid you other than the Most Merciful? The disbelievers are not but in delusion.
MalikWhat force is there that can help you besides the Compassionate? In fact, the unbelievers are suffering from delusion.[20]
QXPNay, who is there besides the Beneficent, that could be an army unto you to shield and help you? They who deny this truth, are but lost in self-deception.
Maulana AliDo they not see the birds above them spreading and contracting (their wings)? Naught upholds them save the Beneficent. Surely He is Seer of all things.
Free MindsWhere is this army of yours to grant you victory without the Almighty? Indeed, the disbelievers are deceived.
Qaribullah Or, who is it that shall be your host to help you, other than the Merciful? Indeed, the unbelievers are only deluded.

George SaleOr who is he that will be as an army unto you, to defend you against the Merciful? Verily the unbelievers are in no other than a mistake.
JM RodwellWho is he that can be as an army to you, to succour you, except the God of Mercy? Truly, the infidels are in the merest delusion.

Asad[And] is there any, besides the Most Gracious, that could be a shield^ 18 for you, and could succour you [against danger]? They who deny this truth are but lost in self- delusion!



al-Mulk 067:021

67:21 امن هذا الذي يرزقكم ان امسك رزقه بل لجوا في عتو ونفور


TransliterationAmman hatha allathee yarzuqukum in amsaka rizqahu bal lajjoo fee AAutuwwin wanufoorin
LiteralOr who (is) that who provides for you if He held (back)/seized His provision? But they persisted, excessed and insisted in arrogance/disobedience and hastening with aversion .

Yusuf AliOr who is there that can provide you with Sustenance if He were to withhold His provision? Nay, they obstinately persist in insolent impiety and flight (from the Truth).
PickthalOr who is he that will provide for you if He should withhold His providence? Nay, but they are set in pride and frowardness.
Arberry Or who is this that shall provide for you if He withholds His provision? No, but they persist in disdain and aversion.
ShakirOr who is it that will give you sustenance if He should withhold His sustenance? Nay! they persist in disdain and aversion.
SarwarIs there anyone who will provide you with sustenance if God were to deny you sustenance? In fact, they obstinately persist in their transgression and hatred.
KhalifaWho is there to provide for you, if He withholds His provisions? Indeed, they have plunged deep into transgression and aversion.
Hilali/KhanWho is he that can provide for you if He should withhold His provision? Nay, but they continue to be in pride, and (they) flee (from the truth).
H/K/SaheehOr who is it that could provide for you if He withheld His provision? But they have persisted in insolence and aversion.
MalikOr who is there that can provide you if He withholds His provision? Yet, they persist in rebellion and aversion from the truth.[21]
QXPWho is there to provide for you if He should withhold His providence? Nay, they are victims of their own pride and hatred (for the poor).
Maulana AliOr who is it that will be a host for you to help you against the Beneficent? The disbelievers are in naught but delusion.
Free MindsWhere is this who can give you provisions if He holds back His provisions? Indeed, they have plunged deep into transgression and aversion.
Qaribullah Or, who is it that shall provide for you if He withholds His provision? Yet they persist in arrogance and aversion.

George SaleOr who is he that will give you food, if He withholdeth his provision? Yet they persist in perverseness, and flying from the truth.
JM RodwellOr who is he that will furnish you supplies, if He withhold His supplies? Yet do they persist in pride and in fleeing from Him!

AsadOr is there any that could provide you with sustenance if He should withhold His provision [from you]? Nay, but they [who are bent on denying the truth] stubbornly persist in their disdain [of God's messages] and in their headlong flight [from Him]!



al-Mulk 067:022

67:22 افمن يمشي مكبا على وجهه اهدى امن يمشي سويا على صراط مستقيم


TransliterationAfaman yamshee mukibban AAala wajhihi ahda amman yamshee sawiyyan AAala siratin mustaqeemin
LiteralIs who walks up-side-down/facing down on his face/front more guided? Or who walks straight/upright on a straight/direct road/way?

Yusuf AliIs then one who walks headlong, with his face grovelling, better guided,- or one who walks evenly on a Straight Way?
PickthalIs he who goeth groping on his face more rightly guided, or he who walketh upright on a straight road?
Arberry What, is he who walks prone upon his face better guided than he who walks upright on a straight path?
ShakirWhat! is he who goes prone upon his face better guided or he who walks upright upon a straight path?
SarwarCan one who walks with his head hanging down be better guided that one who walks with his head upright?.
KhalifaIs one who walks while slumped over on his face better guided, or one who walks straight on the right path?
Hilali/KhanIs he who walks without seeing on his face, more rightly guided, or he who (sees and) walks on a Straight Way (i.e. Islamic Monotheism).
H/K/SaheehThen is one who walks fallen on his face better guided or one who walks erect on a straight path?
MalikJust think, who is rightly guided: he who walks with his face bent down, or he who walks properly on an even path?[22]
QXPIs the one who goes prone on his face close to the ground (like an earthworm), better guided or one who walks straight on the Straight Path?
Maulana AliIs, then, he who goes prone upon his face better guided or he who walks upright on a straight path?
Free MindsIs one who walks while his face is slumped better guided, or one who walks straight on the right path?
Qaribullah What, is he who walks, falling upon his face, more guided than he who walks upright on a Straight Path!

George SaleIs he, therefore, who goeth grovelling upon his face, better directed than he who walketh upright in a strait way?
JM RodwellIs he who goeth along grovelling on his face, better guided than he who goeth upright on a straight path?

AsadBut then, is he that goes along with his face close to the ground^19 better guided than he that walks upright on a straight way?



al-Mulk 067:023

67:23 قل هو الذي انشاكم وجعل لكم السمع والابصار والافئدة قليلا ماتشكرون


TransliterationQul huwa allathee anshaakum wajaAAala lakumu alssamAAa waal-absara waal-af-idata qaleelan ma tashkuroona
LiteralSay: "He is who created/originated you , and made for you the hearing/listening , and the eyesights/knowledge, and the hearts , little (is) what you thank/be grateful."

Yusuf AliSay: "It is He Who has created you (and made you grow), and made for you the faculties of hearing, seeing, feeling and understanding: little thanks it is ye give.
PickthalSay (unto them, O Muhammad): He it is who gave you being, and hath assigned unto you ears and eyes and hearts. Small thanks give ye!
Arberry Say: 'It is He who produced you, and appointed for you hearing and sight and hearts; little thanks you show!'
ShakirSay: He it is Who brought you into being and made for you the ears and the eyes and the hearts: little is it that you give thanks.
Sarwar(Muhammad), say, "It is God who has brought you into being and made ears, eyes, and hearts for you, but you give very little thanks".
KhalifaSay, "He is the One who initiated you, and granted you the hearing, the eyes, and the brains. Rarely are you appreciative."
Hilali/KhanSay it is He Who has created you, and endowed you with hearing (ears), seeing (eyes), and hearts. Little thanks you give.
H/K/SaheehSay, "It is He who has produced you and made for you hearing and vision and hearts; little are you grateful."
MalikSay: "It is He Who has brought you into being, gave you the faculties of hearing, seeing, feeling and understanding: yet you are seldom thankful."[23]
QXPSay, "He it is Who brought you into being and gave you hearing, sight and the faculty of understanding. But how seldom are you grateful by way of using them to full potential!"
Maulana AliSay: He it is Who brought you into being and made for you ears and eyes and hearts. Little thanks it is you give!

al-Mulk 067:024

67:24 قل هو الذي ذراكم في الارض واليه تحشرون


TransliterationQul huwa allathee tharaakum fee al-ardi wa-ilayhi tuhsharoona
LiteralSay: "He is who created/seeded you in the earth/Planet Earth and to Him you are being gathered."

Yusuf AliSay: "It is He Who has multiplied you through the earth, and to Him shall ye be gathered together."
PickthalSay: He it is Who multiplieth you in the earth, and unto Whom ye will be gathered.
Arberry Say: 'It is He who scattered you in the earth, and unto Him you shall be mustered.'
ShakirSay: He it is Who multiplied you in the earth and to Him you shall be gathered.
SarwarSay, "It is God who has settled you on the earth and to Him you will be resurrected".
KhalifaSay, "He is the One who placed you on earth, and before Him you will be summoned."
Hilali/KhanSay: "It is He Who has created you from the earth, and to Him shall you be gathered (in the Hereafter)."
H/K/SaheehSay, " It is He who has multiplied you throughout the earth, and to Him you will be gathered."
MalikSay: "It is He Who has multiplied you in the earth, and before Him you shall all be assembled."[24]
QXPSay, "He it is Who has multiplied you through the earth, and to Him shall you be gathered." (You will always remain within His Supreme Kingdom (23:79)).

al-Mulk 067:025

67:25 ويقولون متى هذا الوعد ان كنتم صادقين


TransliterationWayaqooloona mata hatha alwaAAdu in kuntum sadiqeena
LiteralAnd they say: "When/at what time (is) that the promise if you were truthful?"

Yusuf AliThey ask: When will this promise be (fulfilled)? - If ye are telling the truth.
PickthalAnd they say: When (will) this promise (be fulfilled), if ye are truthful?
Arberry They say, 'When shall this promise come to pass, if you speak truly?'
ShakirAnd they say: When shall this threat be (executed) if you are truthful?
SarwarThey say, "When will this torment take place if what you say is true?".
KhalifaThey challenge: "When will that prophecy come to pass, if you are truthful?"
Hilali/KhanThey say: "When will this promise (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) come to pass? if you are telling the truth."
H/K/SaheehAnd they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?"
MalikThey ask: "When will this promise be fulfilled, if what you say is true?"[25]
QXPBut they say, "When will this promise be fulfilled if you are men of truth?"
Maulana AliAnd they say: When will this threat be (executed), if you are truthful?
Free MindsAnd they Say: "When will this promise come to pass, if you are being truthful?"
Qaribullah They ask: 'When will this promise come, if you speak truthfully? '

George SaleThey say, when shall this menace be put in execution if ye speak truth?
JM RodwellAnd they say, "When shall this threat be put in force, if ye speak the truth?"

AsadBut they [only] ask, "When is this promise to be fulfilled? [Answer this, O you who believe in it,] if you are men of truth!"



al-Mulk 067:026

67:26 قل انما العلم عندالله وانما انا نذير مبين


TransliterationQul innama alAAilmu AAinda Allahi wa-innama ana natheerun mubeenun
LiteralSay: "But/truly the knowledge (is) at God, and but/truly I am a clear/evident warner/giver of notice."

Yusuf AliSay: "As to the knowledge of the time, it is with Allah alone: I am (sent) only to warn plainly in public."
PickthalSay: The knowledge is with Allah only, and I am but a plain warner;
Arberry Say: 'The knowledge is with God; I am only a clear warner.'
ShakirSay: The knowledge (thereof is only with Allah and I am only a plain warner.
SarwarSay, "God knows best. I am only one who gives warning".
KhalifaSay, "Such knowledge is with GOD; I am no more than a manifest warner."
Hilali/KhanSay (O Muhammad SAW): "The knowledge (of its exact time) is with Allah only, and I am only a plain warner."
H/K/SaheehSay, "The knowledge is only with Allah, and I am only a clear warner."
MalikTell them: "Allah Alone has the knowledge of that; my mission is only to warn you plainly."[26]
QXPSay, "This knowledge rests with Allah alone and I am only a plain Warner."
Maulana AliSay: The knowledge is with Allah only, and I am only a plain warner.

Qaribullah Say: 'The knowledge (of that) is with Allah; I am only a clear warner. '

George SaleAnswer, the knowledge of this matter is with God alone: For I am only a public warner.
JM RodwellSAY: Nay truly, this knowledge is with God alone: and I am only an open warner.

AsadSay thou, [O Prophet:] "Knowledge thereof rests with God alone; and I am only a plain warner."



al-Mulk 067:027

67:27 فلما راوه زلفة سيئت وجوه الذين كفروا وقيل هذا الذي كنتم به تدعون


TransliterationFalamma raawhu zulfatan see-at wujoohu allatheena kafaroo waqeela hatha allathee kuntum bihi taddaAAoona
LiteralSo when they saw it in close proximity/close , those who disbelieved's faces/fronts became bad/evil/harmful, and (it) was said: "That (is) what you were with it calling (hastening)."

Yusuf AliAt length, when they see it close at hand, grieved will be the faces of the Unbelievers, and it will be said (to them): "This is (the promise fulfilled), which ye were calling for!"
PickthalBut when they see it nigh, the faces of those who disbelieve will be awry, and it will be said (unto them): This is that for which ye used to call.
Arberry Then, when they see it nigh at hand, the faces of the unbelievers will be vexed, and it will be said, 'This is what you were promised.'
ShakirBut when they shall see it nigh, the faces of those who disbelieve shall be sorry, and it shall be said; This is that which you used to call for.
SarwarWhen they see the torment approaching, the faces of the disbelievers will blacken and they will be told, "This is what you wanted to (experience)".
KhalifaWhen they see it happening, the faces of those who disbelieved will turn miserable, and it will be proclaimed: "This is what you used to mock."
Hilali/KhanBut when they will see it (the torment on the Day of Resurrection) approaching, the faces of those who disbelieve will be different (black, sad, and in grieve), and it will be said (to them): "This is (the promise) which you were calling for!"
H/K/SaheehBut when they see it approaching, the faces of those who disbelieve will be distressed, and it will be said, "This is that for which you used to call."
MalikBut, when they shall see it close at hand, the faces of the disbelievers will turn black with gloom, and it will be said to them: "This is which you were calling for."[27]
QXPBut when they see it close at hand, grieved will be the faces of the rejecters, and they will be told, "This it is which you were calling for."
Maulana AliBut when they see it nigh, the faces of those who disbelieve will be grieved, and it will be said: This is that which you used to call for.
Free MindsSo when they see it near, the faces of those who rejected will turn miserable, and it will be proclaimed: "This is what you had called for!."
Qaribullah Then, when they see it drawing near, the faces of the unbelievers will be blackened, and it is said: 'This is what you were promised. '

George SaleBut when they shall see the same nigh at hand, the countenance of the infidels shall grow sad: And it shall be said unto them, this is what ye have been demanding.
JM RodwellBut when they shall see it nigh, sad shall wax the countenances of the infidels: and it shall be said, "This is what ye have been calling for."

AsadYet in the end, when they shall see that [fulfilment] close at hand, the faces of those who were bent on denying the truth will be stricken with grief; and they will be told, "This it is that you were [so derisively] calling for!"



al-Mulk 067:028

67:28 قل ارايتم ان اهلكني الله ومن معي او رحمنا فمن يجير الكافرين من عذاب اليم


TransliterationQul araaytum in ahlakaniya Allahu waman maAAiya aw rahimana faman yujeeru alkafireena min AAathabin aleemin
LiteralSay: "Did you see if God punished/destroyed me and who (is) with me? Or had mercy upon us? So who protects/defends the disbelievers from a painful torture?"

Yusuf AliSay: "See ye?- If Allah were to destroy me, and those with me, or if He bestows His Mercy on us,- yet who can deliver the Unbelievers from a grievous Penalty?"
PickthalSay (O Muhammad): Have ye thought: Whether Allah causeth me (Muhammad) and those with me to perish or hath mercy on us, still, who will protect the disbelievers from a painful doom?
Arberry Say: 'What think you? If God destroys me and those with me, or has mercy on us, then who will protect the unbelievers from a painful chastisement?'
ShakirSay: Have you considered if Allah should destroy me and those with me-- rather He will have mercy on us; yet who will protect the unbelievers from a painful punishment?
Sarwar(Muhammad), say, "Have you not considered that regardless whether God forgives me and my followers or grants us mercy, but who will protect the disbelievers from a painful torment?.
KhalifaSay, "Whether GOD decides to annihilate me and those with me, or to shower us with His mercy, who is there to protect the disbelievers from a painful retribution?"
Hilali/KhanSay (O Muhammad SAW): "Tell me! If Allah destroys me, and those with me, or He bestows His Mercy on us, - who can save the disbelievers from a painful torment?"
H/K/SaheehSay, [O Muúammad], "Have you considered: whether Allah should cause my death and those with me or have mercy upon us, who can protect the disbelievers from a painful punishment?"
MalikFurther say: "Have you ever considered that even if Allah destroys me as well as those with me or bestows His mercy on us; who will save the disbelievers from a painful punishment?"[28]
QXPSay (O Messenger), "Have you ever thought? Whether Allah causes me and my companions to perish or embraces us in His Grace, who will protect the rejecters from the doom of suffering?"
Maulana AliSay: Have you considered if Allah should destroy me and those with me -- rather He will have mercy on us -- yet who will protect the disbelievers from a painful chastisement?
Free MindsSay: "Do you see? If God annihilates me and those with me, or He bestows mercy upon us, who is there to protect the disbelievers from a painful retribution?"
Qaribullah Say: 'What do you think, if Allah destroys me and those with me, or has mercy upon us, who then will protect the unbelievers from the painful punishment? '

George SaleSay, what think ye? Whether God destroy me and those who are with me, or have mercy on us; who will protect the unbelievers from a painful punishment?
JM RodwellSAY: What think ye? Whether God destroy me or not, and those who follow me, or whether he have mercy on us, yet who will protect the infidels from a woeful torment?

AsadSAY [O Prophet]: "What do you think? Whether God destroys me and those who follow me, or graces us with His mercy 21 - is there anyone that could protect [you] deniers of the truth from grievous suffering [in the life to come]?"



al-Mulk 067:029

67:29 قل هو الرحمن امنا به وعليه توكلنا فستعلمون من هو في ضلال مبين


TransliterationQul huwa alrrahmanu amanna bihi waAAalayhi tawakkalna fasataAAlamoona man huwa fee dalalin mubeenin
LiteralSay: "He is the merciful, we believed with (in) Him and on Him we relied/depended , so you will know who He is in clear/evident misguidance."

Yusuf AliSay: "He is (Allah) Most Gracious: We have believed in Him, and on Him have we put our trust: So, soon will ye know which (of us) it is that is in manifest error."
PickthalSay: He is the Beneficent. In Him we believe and in Him we put our trust. And ye will soon know who it is that is in error manifest.
Arberry Say: 'He is the All-merciful. We believe in Him, and in Him we put all our trust. Assuredly, you will soon, know who is in manifest error.
ShakirSay: He is the Beneficent Allah, we believe in Him and on Him do we rely, so you shall come to know who it is that is in clear error.
SarwarSay, "He is the Beneficent One in whom we have faith and trust. You will soon know who is in manifest error".
KhalifaSay, "He is the Most Gracious; we believe in Him, and we trust in Him. You will surely find out who is really far astray."
Hilali/KhanSay: "He is the Most Beneficent (Allah), in Him we believe, and in Him we put our trust. So you will come to know who is it that is in manifest error."
H/K/SaheehSay, "He is the Most Merciful; we have believed in Him, and upon Him we have relied. And you will [come to] know who it is that is in clear error."
MalikSay: "He is the Compassionate: in Him we have believed, and in Him we have put our trust. Soon you will find out, which one of us is in the manifest error."[29]
QXPSay, "He is the Beneficent. In Him we believe and in Him we place our trust, (so our Mission will succeed). And soon you will come to know who it is that is in obvious error."
Maulana AliSay: He is the Beneficent -- we believe in Him and on Him do we rely. So you will come to know who it is that is in clear error.
Free MindsSay: "He is the Almighty; we believe in Him, and we put our trust in Him. You will come to find out who is clearly astray."
Qaribullah Say: 'He is the Merciful. In Him we believe and in Him we put all our trust. Indeed, you shall soon know who is in clear error. '

George SaleSay, He is the Merciful; in Him do we believe, and in Him do we put our trust. Ye shall hereafter know who is in a manifest error.
JM RodwellSAY: He is the God of Mercy: in Him do we believe, and in Him put we our trust; and ye shall know hereafter who is in a manifest error.

AsadSay: "He is the Most Gracious: we have attained to faith in Him, and in Him have we placed our trust; and in time you will come to know which of us was lost in manifest error."



al-Mulk 067:030

67:30 قل ارايتم ان اصبح ماؤكم غورا فمن ياتيكم بماء معين


TransliterationQul araaytum in asbaha maokum ghawran faman ya/teekum bima-in maAAeenin
LiteralSay: "Did you see/understand if your water became/became in the morning deeply sunk/bottomed ? So who comes/brings to you with water flowing easily and plentifully?"429

Yusuf AliSay: "See ye?- If your stream be some morning lost (in the underground earth), who then can supply you with clear-flowing water?"
PickthalSay: Have ye thought: If (all) your water were to disappear into the earth, who then could bring you gushing water?
Arberry Say: 'What think you? If in the morning your water should have vanished into the earth, then who would bring you running water?'
ShakirSay: Have you considered if your water should go down, who is it then that will bring you flowing water?
SarwarSay, "Have you not thought that if your water was to dry up, who would bring you water from the spring?".
KhalifaSay, "What if your water sinks away, who will provide you with pure water?"
Hilali/KhanSay (O Muhammad SAW): "Tell me! If (all) your water were to be sunk away, who then can supply you with flowing (spring) water?"
H/K/SaheehSay, "Have you considered: if your water was to become sunken [into the earth], then who could bring you flowing water?" 68-Surah Al-Qalam Bismillahir Raúmanir-Raúeem
MalikSay: "Have you ever considered that if all the water you have, sink down in the ground, who is it, that will bring you the clear-flowing water?"[30]
QXPSay, "Do you see? If all your water were to vanish into the earth, who, then, could bring you fresh water springs?" ((56:63-74), (67:21). Likewise, who can bestow upon you the graceful Spring of guidance but Allah?)
Maulana AliSay: Have you considered if your water should subside, who is it then that will bring you flowing water?
Free MindsSay: "What if your water becomes deep underground, who then can provide you with pure water?"
Qaribullah Say: 'What do you think. If your water should sink into the earth in the morning, who then would bring you running water? '

George SaleSay, what think ye? If your water be in the morning swallowed up by the earth, who will give you clear and running water?
JM RodwellSAY: What think ye? If at early morn your waters shall have sunk away, who then will give you clear running water?

AsadSay [unto those who deny the truth]: "What do you think? If of a sudden all your water were to vanish underground, who [but God] could provide you with water from [new] unsullied springs?"
