| Transliteration | Wakaththaboo bi-ayatina kiththaban |
| Literal | And they lied/denied/falsified with Our verses/evidences lying/denying/falsifying. |
| Yusuf Ali | But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false. |
| Pickthal | They called Our revelations false with strong denial. |
| Arberry | and they cried loud lies to Our signs; |
| Shakir | And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth). |
