ash-Shu`ara' (The Poets) 26:211

26:211 وماينبغي لهم ومايستطيعون


TransliterationWama yanbaghee lahum wama yastateeAAoona
LiteralAnd (it) should not (be) for them, and they are not able.

Yusuf AliIt would neither suit them nor would they be able (to produce it).
PickthalIt is not meet for them, nor is it in their power,
Arberry it behoves them not, neither are they able.
ShakirAnd it behoves them not, and they have not the power to do (it).
Sarwarthey are not supposed to do so. Nor do have they the ability for such a task.
KhalifaThey neither would, nor could.
Hilali/KhanNeither would it suit them, nor they can (produce it).
H/K/SaheehIt is not allowable for them, nor would they be able.
Malikit is neither in their interest nor in their power to produce such a masterpiece.[211]
QXPIt is beyond their stature, nor is it in their power.
