| Transliteration | Wa-in kana as-habu al-aykati lathalimeena |
| Literal | And if owners/company (of) the thicket/dense tangled trees were unjust/oppressive (E). |
| Yusuf Ali | And the Companions of the Wood were also wrong-doers; |
| Pickthal | And the dwellers in the wood indeed were evil-doers. |
| Arberry | Certainly the dwellers in the Thicket were evildoers, |
| Shakir | And the dwellers of the thicket also were most surely unjust. |
| Sarwar | Since the People of the Forest were unjust, |
