| 104:1 سورة الهمزة بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم ٛــــ ويل لكل همزة لمزة |

| Transliteration | Waylun likulli humazatin lumazatin |
| Literal | Calamity/scandal/woe to every/each backbiter/spurrer , defamer/blamer . |

| 104:2 الذي جمع مالا وعدده |
| |

| Transliteration | Allathee jamaAAa malan waAAaddadahu |
| Literal | Who gathered/accumulated property/possession/wealth and he counted it repeatedly. |

| Yusuf Ali | Who pileth up wealth and layeth it by, |
| Pickthal | Who hath gathered wealth (of this world) and arranged it. |
| Arberry | who has gathered riches and counted them over |
| Shakir | Who amasses wealth and considers it a provision (against mishap); |
| Sarwar | who collects and hordes wealth, |
| Khalifa | He hoards money and counts it. |
| Hilali/Khan | Who has gathered wealth and counted it, |

| 104:3 يحسب ان ماله اخلده |

| Literal | He thinks/supposes that (E) his property/possession/wealth made him immortal/eternal . |

| 104:4 كلا لينبذن في الحطمة |
| |

| Transliteration | Kalla layunbathanna fee alhutamati |
| Literal | No but he will be discarded/thrown away (E) in the intense fire/Hell. |

|
| Yusuf Ali | By no means! He will be sure to be thrown into That which Breaks to Pieces, |
| Pickthal | Nay, but verily he will be flung to the Consuming One. |
| Arberry | No indeed; he shall be thrust into the Crusher; |
| Shakir | Nay! he shall most certainly be hurled into the crushing disaster, |
| Sarwar | By no means! They will be thrown into hutamah. |
| Khalifa | Never; he will be thrown into the Devastator. |

| 104:5 وماادراك ماالحطمة |
| |

| Transliteration | Wama adraka ma alhutamatu |
| Literal | And what made you know/informed you what the intense fire/Hell (is)?477 |

| Yusuf Ali | And what will explain to thee That which Breaks to Pieces? |
| Pickthal | Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Consuming One is! |
| Arberry | and what shall teach thee what is the Crusher; |
| Shakir | And what will make you realize what the crushing disaster is? |

| 104:6 نار الله الموقدة |
| |

| Transliteration | Naru Allahi almooqadatu |
| Literal | God's fire, the ignited/kindled . |
| |
|
| Yusuf Ali | (It is) the Fire of (the Wrath of) Allah kindled (to a blaze), |
| Pickthal | (It is) the fire of Allah, kindled, |
| Arberry | The Fire of God kindled |
| Shakir | It is the fire kindled by Allah, |

| Khalifa | GOD's blazing Hellfire. |

| 104:7 التي تطلع على الافئدة |
| |

| Transliteration | Allatee tattaliAAu AAala al-af-idati |
| Literal | Which ascends/rises on (to) the hearts . |
| |

| Yusuf Ali | The which doth mount (Right) to the Hearts: |
| Pickthal | Which leapeth up over the hearts (of men). |
| Arberry | roaring over the hearts |
| Shakir | Which rises above the hearts. |
| Sarwar | to penetrate into the hearts. |
| Khalifa | It burns them inside out. |
| Hilali/Khan | Which leaps up over the hearts, |

al-Humazah 104:008
| 104:8 انها عليهم مؤصدة |
| |
|
| Transliteration | lnnaha AAalayhim mu/sadatun |
| Literal | That it truly is on them stationary/residing . |
| |
|
| Yusuf Ali | It shall be made into a vault over them, |
| Pickthal | Lo! it is closed in on them |
| Arberry | covered down upon them, |
| Shakir | Surely it shall be closed over upon them, |
| Sarwar | It will engulf them. |
| Khalifa | They will be confined therein. |
| Hilali/Khan | Verily, it shall be closed in on them, |
| H/K/Saheeh | Indeed, Hellfire will be closed down upon them |
| Malik | closing in upon them from every side[8] |
| QXP | Verily, it closes upon them. (As they had kept their possessions closed in safes and vaults, and kept all kindness surrounded in the flames of jealousy). |
