95:1 سورة التين بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم ٛــــ والتين والزيتون

95:3 وهذا البلد الامين


TransliterationWahatha albaladi al-ameeni
LiteralAnd/by this the country/land/city , the faithful/secure .

Yusuf AliAnd this City of security,-
PickthalAnd by this land made safe;
Arberry and this land secure!
ShakirAnd this city made secure,
Sarwarand by this inviolable city, Mecca.
KhalifaAnd this honored town (Mecca).
Hilali/KhanAnd by this city of security (Makkah) ,
H/K/SaheehAnd [by] this secure city [Makkah],
Malikand by this city of peace (Mecca).[3]
QXPAnd now, (O Messenger!) This land of security and peace. (Makkah where the Final Revelation has begun. (2:126)).

95:4 لقد خلقنا الانسان في احسن تقويم


TransliterationLaqad khalaqna al-insana fee ahsani taqweemin
LiteralWe had (E) created the human/mankind in best chronometry/cartography (methods of calculating maps and charts)/straightness (formation).

Yusuf AliWe have indeed created man in the best of moulds,
PickthalSurely We created man of the best stature
Arberry We indeed created Man in the fairest stature
ShakirCertainly We created man in the best make.
SarwarWe have created the human being in the best form
KhalifaWe created man in the best design.
Hilali/KhanVerily, We created man of the best stature (mould),
H/K/SaheehWe have certainly created man in the best of stature;
MalikWe have indeed created man in the best stature;[4]
QXPWe have created the human being in the best design. (With the potential to grow his 'Self').

95:5 ثم رددناه اسفل سافلين


TransliterationThumma radadnahu asfala safileena
LiteralThen We returned him (to) lowest/more lowly/more mean lowly/mean (lowliest) .

Yusuf AliThen do We abase him (to be) the lowest of the low,-
PickthalThen we reduced him to the lowest of the low,
Arberry then We restored him the lowest of the low --
ShakirThen We render him the lowest of the low.
Sarwarand We shall make him the lowest of low
KhalifaThen turned him into the lowliest of the lowly.
Hilali/KhanThen We reduced him to the lowest of the low,
H/K/SaheehThen We return him to the lowest of the low,
Malikthen We abase him to the lowest of the low[5]
QXPThen We turn him to the lowest of low. (Whoever rejects Divine Values, reduces himself to a subhuman existence (91:7-10)).
Maulana AliThen We render him the lowest of the low,

Qaribullah and We shall return him to the lowest of the low,

George Saleafterwards We rendered him the vilest of the vile:

at-Tin 095:006

95:6 الا الذين امنوا وعملوا الصالحات فلهم اجر غير ممنون


TransliterationIlla allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati falahum ajrun ghayru mamnoonin
LiteralExcept those who believed and made/did the correct/righteous deeds, so for them (is) a not interrupted/weakened reward .

Yusuf AliExcept such as believe and do righteous deeds: For they shall have a reward unfailing.
PickthalSave those who believe and do good works, and theirs is a reward unfailing.
Arberry save those who believe, and do righteous deeds; they shall have a wage unfailing.
ShakirExcept those who believe and do good, so they shall have a reward never to be cut off.
Sarwarexcept the righteously striving believers who will have a never ending reward.
KhalifaExcept those who believe and lead a righteous life; they receive a reward that is well deserved.
Hilali/KhanSave those who believe (in Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous deeds, then they shall have a reward without end (Paradise).
H/K/SaheehExcept for those who believe and do righteous deeds, for they will have a reward uninterrupted.
Malikexcept those who believe and do good deeds - for they shall have a never ending reward.[6]
QXPExcept those who have chosen to be graced with belief, and work to augment the human potential. And theirs is a reward unending.
Maulana AliExcept those who believe and do good; so theirs is a reward never to be cut off.
Free MindsExcept those who have believed and done good work, they will have a reward of thanks.
Qaribullah except the believers who do good works, for theirs shall be an unfailing recompense.

George SaleExcept those who believe, and work righteousness; for they shall receive an endless reward.
JM RodwellSave who believe and do the things that are right, for theirs shall be a reward that faileth not.

Asadexcepting only such as attain to faith and do good works: and theirs shall be a reward unending!



at-Tin 095:007

95:7 فما يكذبك بعد بالدين


TransliterationFama yukaththibuka baAAdu bialddeeni
LiteralSo what makes you lie/deny/falsify after with the religion?

Yusuf AliThen what can, after this, contradict thee, as to the judgment (to come)?
PickthalSo who henceforth will give the lie to thee about the judgment?
Arberry What then shall cry thee lies as to the Doom?
ShakirThen who can give you the lie after (this) about the judgment?
SarwarAfter (knowing) this, what makes you still disbelieve in the Day of Judgment?.
KhalifaWhy do you still reject the faith?
Hilali/KhanThen what (or who) causes you (O disbelievers) to deny the Recompense (i.e. Day of Resurrection)?
H/K/SaheehSo what yet causes you to deny the Recompense?
MalikSo, what causes them to disbelieve you concerning the Day of Judgment?[7]
QXPWhat, then, can make you deny the Divine System of life!
Maulana AliSo who can give the lie to thee after (this) about the Judgment?
Free MindsSo what would make you deny the system after that?
Qaribullah So, what then shall belie you concerning the Recompense?

George SaleWhat therefore shall cause thee to deny the day of judgement after this?
JM RodwellThen, who after this shall make thee treat the Judgment as a lie?

AsadWhat, then, [O man,] could henceforth cause thee to give the lie to this moral law?



at-Tin 095:008

95:8 اليس الله باحكم الحاكمين


TransliterationAlaysa Allahu bi-ahkami alhakimeena
LiteralIs God not with (the) most judicious (of) the judges/rulers?

Yusuf AliIs not Allah the wisest of judges?
PickthalIs not Allah the most conclusive of all judges?
Arberry Is not God the justest of judges?
ShakirIs not Allah the best of the Judges?
SarwarIs God not the best of the Judges?.
KhalifaIs GOD not the Most Wise, of all the wise ones?
Hilali/KhanIs not Allah the Best of judges?
H/K/SaheehIs not Allah the most just of judges?
MalikIs not Allah the best of all judges?[8]
QXPIs not Allah the Sovereign of the sovereigns, the Wisest of the wise, the Best of all judges? ('Hukm' carries all three meanings).
