7:79 فتولى عنهم وقال ياقوم لقد ابلغتكم رسالة ربي ونصحت لكم ولكن لاتحبون الناصحين


TransliterationFatawalla AAanhum waqala ya qawmi laqad ablaghtukum risalata rabbee wanasahtu lakum walakin la tuhibboona alnnasiheena
LiteralSo he turned away from them and he said: "My nation, I had communicated/informed (to) you my Lord's message, and I advised to you, and but you do not love/like the advisors/counselors."

Yusuf AliSo Salih left them, saying: "O my people! I did indeed convey to you the message for which I was sent by my Lord: I gave you good counsel, but ye love not good counsellors!"
PickthalAnd (Salih) turned from them and said: O my people! I delivered my Lord's message unto you and gave you good advice, but ye love not good advisers.
Arberry So he turned his back on them, and said, 'O my people, I have delivered to you the Message of my Lord, and advised you sincerely; but you do not love sincere advisers.'
ShakirThen he turned away from them and said: O my people I did certainly deliver to you the message of my Lord, and I gave you good advice, but you do not love those who give good advice.
SarwarHe turned away from them saying, "My people, I preached the Message of my Lord to you and gave you good advice, but you do not love advisors."

QXPSaleh was grieved that his people disregarded the Message of his Lord. He moved away from the township saying to himself, "O My people! I gave my Lord's Message to you, and advised you sincerely, but you never liked good advisers."
Maulana AliSo he turned away from them and said: O my people, I delivered to you the message of my Lord and gave you good advice, but you love not good advisers.

George SaleAnd Saleh departed from them, and said, O my people, now have I delivered unto you the message of my Lord; and I advised you well, but ye love not those who advise you well.

AsadAnd [alih] turned away from them, and said: "O my people! Indeed, I delivered unto you my Sustainer's message and gave you good advice: but you did not love those who gave [you] good advice." responding note. From all the historical references to the Thamud it is apparent that they were one of the greatest and most powerful Arab tribes of their time.
