| 6:37 وقالوا لولا نزل عليه اية من ربه قل ان الله قادر على ان ينزل اية ولكن اكثرهم لايعلمون | |
| Transliteration | Waqaloo lawla nuzzila AAalayhi ayatun min rabbihi qul inna Allaha qadirun AAala an yunazzila ayatan walakinna aktharahum la yaAAlamoona |
| Literal | And they said: "If only a sign/verse/evidence was descended on him from his Lord." Say: "That God (is) capable that on to descend a sign/verse/evidence." And but most of them do not know. |
| Yusuf Ali | They say: "Why is not a sign sent down to him from his Lord?" Say: "Allah hath certainly power to send down a sign: but most of them understand not. |
