adh-Dhariyat (The Winnowing Winds, The Scatterers) 51:44

51:44 فعتوا عن امر ربهم فاخذتهم الصاعقة وهم ينظرون


TransliterationFaAAataw AAan amri rabbihim faakhathat-humu alssaAAiqatu wahum yanthuroona
LiteralSo they become arrogant/disobedient from their Lord's order/command, so the death/destructive torture punished/took them, and (while) they are looking/watching .

Yusuf AliBut they insolently defied the Command of their Lord: So the stunning noise (of an earthquake) seized them, even while they were looking on.
PickthalBut they rebelled against their Lord's decree, and so the thunderbolt overtook them even while they gazed;
Arberry Then they turned in disdain from the commandment of their Lord, and the thunderbolt took them and they themselves beholding
ShakirBut they revolted against the commandment of their Lord, so the rumbling overtook them while they saw.
SarwarThey transgressed against the command of their Lord. So a blast of sound struck them and they were unable to do anything but stare.
KhalifaThey rebelled against the command of their Lord. Consequently, the lightning struck them as they looked.
Hilali/KhanBut they insolently defied the Command of their Lord, so the Saiqah overtook them while they were looking.
H/K/SaheehBut they were insolent toward the command of their Lord, so the thunderbolt seized them while they were looking on.
Malikbut they disobeyed the commandment of their Lord; consequently they were overtaken by the thunderbolt even while they were looking on.[44]
QXPBut they defied their Lord's Commandment. Whereupon the thunder seized them while they looked on.
Maulana AliBut they revolted against the commandment of their Lord, so the punishment overtook them, while they saw.
Free MindsBut they rebelled against the command of their Lord. So the lightning struck them while they were looking.
Qaribullah But in their pride they turn away from the commandment of their Lord and the thunderbolt struck them whilst they were looking;

George SaleBut they insolently transgressed the command of their Lord: Wherefore a terrible noise from heaven assailed them, while they looked on;
