| 5:36 ان الذين كفروا لو ان لهم مافي الارض جميعا ومثله معه ليفتدوا به من عذاب يوم القيامة ماتقبل منهم ولهم عذاب اليم | |
| Transliteration | Inna allatheena kafaroo law anna lahum ma fee al-ardi jameeAAan wamithlahu maAAahu liyaftadoo bihi min AAathabi yawmi alqiyamati ma tuqubbila minhum walahum AAathabun aleemun |
| Literal | That those who disbelieved, if that for them what (is) in the earth/Planet Earth all together, and similar/equal to it, with it to ransom/compensate with it from the Resurrection Day's torture, (it) would not be accepted from them, and to them (is) a painful torture. |
| Yusuf Ali | As to those who reject Faith,- if they had everything on earth, and twice repeated, to give as ransom for the penalty of the Day of Judgment, it would never be accepted of them, theirs would be a grievous penalty. |
