| 26:21 ففررت منكم لما خفتكم فوهب لي ربي حكما وجعلني من المرسلين | |
| Transliteration | Fafarartu minkum lamma khiftukum fawahaba lee rabbee hukman wajaAAalanee mina almursaleena |
| Literal | So I escaped/fled from you when I feared you, so my Lord granted for me judgment/rule, and He made/put me from the messengers. |
| Yusuf Ali | "So I fled from you (all) when I feared you; but my Lord has (since) invested me with judgment (and wisdom) and appointed me as one of the messengers. |
| Pickthal | Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord vouchsafed me a command and appointed me (of the number) of those sent (by Him). |
