| Transliteration | Waqadayna ilayhi thalika al-amra anna dabira haola-i maqtooAAun musbiheena | 
| Literal | And We ordered/passed judgment to him (of) that the matter/affair/order/command, that those (people's) root/remainder (is) cut off/severed by the morning/daybreak. | 
| Yusuf Ali | And We made known this decree to him, that the last remnants of those (sinners) should be cut off by the morning. | 
| Pickthal | And We made plain the case to him, that the root of them (who did wrong) was to be cut at early morn. | 
| Arberry | And We decreed for him that commandment, that the last remnant of those should be cut off in the morning. |
