| 7:136 فانتقمنا منهم فاغرقناهم في اليم بانهم كذبوا باياتنا وكانوا عنها غافلين | |
| Transliteration | Faintaqamna minhum faaghraqnahum fee alyammi bi-annahum kaththaboo bi-ayatina wakanoo AAanha ghafileena |
| Literal | So We revenged/punished from them, so We drowned/sunk them in the body of water (river/sea/lake) because they denied/falsified with Our verses/evidences , and they were from it ignoring/disregarding . |
| Yusuf Ali | So We exacted retribution from them: We drowned them in the sea, because they rejected Our Signs and failed to take warning from them. |
