| 6:26 وهم ينهون عنه وينأون عنه وان يهلكون الا انفسهم ومايشعرون | |
| Transliteration | Wahum yanhawna AAanhu wayan-awna AAanhu wa-in yuhlikoona illa anfusahum wama yashAAuroona |
| Literal | And they forbid/prevent from it, and they go far from it, and that they truly destroy (non) except themselves, and they do not feel/know. |
| Yusuf Ali | Others they keep away from it, and themselves they keep away; but they only destroy their own souls, and they perceive it not. |
| Pickthal | And they forbid (men) from it and avoid it, and they ruin none save themselves, though they perceive not. |
| Arberry | And they forbid it, and keep afar from it, and it is only themselves they destroy, but they are not aware. |
