as-Saffat (Those Who Set The Ranks, Drawn up in Ranks, The Rangers) 37:164

37:164 ومامنا الا له مقام معلوم


TransliterationWama minna illa lahu maqamun maAAloomun
Literal(The angels say): "And none for Us except for him (is) a known place and time/position/status ."

Yusuf Ali(Those ranged in ranks say): "Not one of us but has a place appointed;
PickthalThere is not one of us but hath his known position.
Arberry None of us is there, but has a known station;
ShakirAnd there is none of us but has an assigned place,
SarwarThe angels say, "Each of us has an appointed place.
KhalifaEach one of us has a specific job.
Hilali/KhanThere is not one of us (angels) but has his known place (or position);
H/K/Saheeh[The angels say], "There is not among us any except that he has a known position.
